About William
William Darus Smith serves as the Program Manager at Jay~Jay Care, where he brings over a decade of experience in the human services industry. Before taking on his current role, William worked across various sectors within human services, including both healthcare skill services and administrative services.
He holds an Associate degree in Business Management from Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Moorhead, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
In his capacity as Program Manager, William oversees a variety of tasks focused on enhancing the well-being of clients.
His commitment to effective management, staff development, and community engagement plays a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission of delivering compassionate and reliable care to those in need. Through his dedication, Jay~Jay Care aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of clients and their families each day.
Our Story
The name “Jay-Jay” is derived from the initials of William’s parents’ names. His father’s name was James, and his mother’s name was Joan.
William grew up in a household where his parents constantly supported their friends, family, and community, doing everything they could to help others. Despite having limited resources, they often shared what they had to ensure their neighbors were taken care of.
When the idea arose for William and his wife, Tinatuah, to start a home help services business, they both agreed to name the company in honor of William’s late parents.
William and Tinatuah believe that the true reward of their work goes beyond financial compensation; it lies in building relationships and helping individuals in their community lead fulfilling lives.
